Liz is Assistant Principal Global Health and Director of the Global Health Academy. The Academy supports the creation, curation and implementation of global health knowledge, working alongside a diverse global community including practitioners, trainers, researchers, policy makers, business, local community and international agencies.
Liz directs the Certificate in Global Health Challenges, and co-directs the Masters of Family Medicine, and leads the Health Future strand in the Edinburgh Futures Institute. She is a co-Director of the Global Compassion Initiative – developing a university-wide strategy that affirms the values of the university, researches the science of compassion in all disciplines and establishes a strategy for embedding compassion to enhance collegiality. Liz is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
